OK, i have a Fredrick dehumidifier and the fan works, but it doesn't lug moisture out of the air. Is there any mode to repair this?
Answers:    It needs more than the fan working surrounded by it to remove humidity.
The compressor needs to be running.
Could be a simple wiring problem or the humidistat packed up.
A dehumidifier is nothing more than an air conditioner next to the evaporator and condenser coils next to each other and no outside discharge for the fry. In fact the air is pulled within over the evaporator coils then the condenser coils before person discharged back into the room. Check that the filter on the coils is clean and you take good airflow through the unit. It sounds approaching the dehumidifier might be low on its refrigerant charge and the low pressure safety switch has shut bad your compressor, or you could have a bad humidstat switch, discouraging thermostat switch or a loose connection.. You might be able to contact an nouns conditioner service man and get him to check the unit.

I am a licensed Universal HVAC technician. Had impossible to tell apart problem with my dehumidifier. Had to install a service port on the suction line and found that it be low on charge. Added some R-22 and closed up the dehumidifier and it has been working fine.
