Hello.
In my company, we're about to repair a refrigerating element that's been delivered to us by a furniture work company. The unit is caked with what we assume is wood or MDF cement, whie solid with a 'waxy' consistency (looks like the grease moved out from a pork barbecue)
Anyone knows whjat this glue is and how to remove it from the section? I've read of white spirit, which is not available, and WD-40. Heat, acetone, MEK, alcohol and trike have been unqualified to dissolve the stuff so far.

Thanks in advance.
Answers:    You said you used steam but I am unsure if you meant the product "Heat" or actual temperature warmth. What you are describing sounds like hot glue and I would try a fry gun to soften it and a plastic scraper to remove it.
