Craftsman 1/2 Horse Garage Opener? Hi all, express question. My garage door have been acting up...
Hi all,
express question. My garage door have been acting up a bit and I can't find my instruction manual. Thought I could ask you all for back.
Doesn't matter if I use the wall control or the remote but when I hit it to close, the door begin to close then go back up. I try again, and same result. Eventually the door go down. I've cleaned the sensors and surrounding area. Any design?
p.s. I live in Toronto, Canada and it's be sort of cold lately. Not sure if the cold would affect the motor. Average temps are between 28 and 32 degrees f. Any concept?
Please and thanks.
Answers: Hi
Could be 2 things:
If it is a newer garage door system, it may own a safety laser to reverse the door if someone walk under it. If the laser is rotten, the vibration of the door will incentive it to reverse. You would see the lasers on the bottom sides of the rails.
There is also going to be adjustment screw. One will be for downward pressure. Again for safety if the door hits resistance it will reverse because it think it hit something. Increasing the downward pressure will fix this. The other adjustments will be for how far down the door go, etc.
You may be able to find the almanac online by googling the model # and "manual".
Good Luck
Mine does the same entity but even in hot temps. You might try replacing the mobile in the remote and verbs and lubricate the contact points in it. Use an electrical grease. Thats adjectives I can think it could be.
