There is a gas leak i the kitchen and someone turns on a restrained switch?

I am asking this for a reason, and will explain adjectives later.
Yes it can.
Not one and only that, static electricity can ignite it also. You know when you shuffle across the carpet and touch the door knob and carry a little zap.
In the event of a gas percolate, go outside and call upon 911. Older phone systems that had relays could ignite them also.
It would be possible but not probable.
A spark could cause an explosion if nearby was ample gas and if the spark was hot plenty.
Buttt! for most cases I would have to utter no most of the time.
A very apposite spark would cause one, if near was ample gas.
Just turning on a light switch i own to say no.
If it be a gas like hydrogen next I could say yes.
There are ways to brand name turning a light switch on do what you influence but you do not need to know them.

Very unlikely, unless in attendance is a loose wire within the switch which can cause a spark to arc, but you do inevitability a large volume of gas within the room for an explosion to occur. Natural gas is heavier than the frail towns gas and is slow to rise from floor level. Hope this help.
