I'm thinking about buying an older house. There are foundation problems and the owner said he will payment to get it leveled, but then we enjoy to take care of the problems that come after individual leveled like the cracks in the walls and plumbing. Its a 4 bedroom, 2 tub, 2,546 sq. ft. home. How much do you think it would cost to get the cracks contained by the walls and plumbing fixed?
Answers: The cracks in the walls will be the cheapest fix you can repair very graceful with joint compound , puddy gouge, sandpaper and paint. I would worry about messing up roof when they start raise foundation to level it. I do not know what area you live within but I am going to make guess of $2000 to hire painter come in to paint and repair cracks. You could do it yourself including buying paint for beneath $500.00 Unless you are getting it for a steal, you need to pass on this house. If you do buy it you stipulation to hire a professional inspector to inspect it. I do plumbing, and I would be afraid of the house the way you described it. To replace the roof on 2546 sq, ft house will cost about $10,000, bake & cooling aprox $8000 Water heater $500 and the list go on.

SKIP that house! Specially with the market the method it is you can find something better for the same price, my husband is a plumber and a re-pipe could run you into the thousands of dollars, it is EXPENSIVE as heck!
