I have a 6" Ryobi bench grinder contraption and i need a polishing rudder machine, but the singular one in town is 80 bucks, it have a polishing wheel but also a grindstone on the other side of the motor which i dont call for, if i get that i quality like im paying adjectives that money just for the joystick on that one side.
i ask if there is anyway to put a polishing rudder on my grinding machine? I don`t know by removing the guardpieces that are around the stone and replacing the stone with the helm piece? and just for fun, is at hand anyway to make the actual joystick piece myself? i could buy them but it just seem like theyre simply a bunch of circular rags sewn contained by a circle anyways.
Answers:    Buy a polishing wheel for your grinder. Match the size and the speed rating to your grinder. Works great.. You should not try to engineer your own polishing wheel. Too rugged to get it suspended properly and strong enough to withstand the centifugal forces require. Too cheap to risk ruining your project or you appendage or eyes.

For small craft projects the bench grinder is OK for buffing small pieces.
They run a little prompt & do not have the torque needed for
more than standard lamp use.
Probably best to buy buffing wheels.
They come contained by different styles for buffing various metals w/ the appropriate rouges.
If you want a small appliance just for buffing ,it would be cheaper & better to find a second hand motor & attach a mandrel directly to the come to an end of the shaft.
You could also get a bench arbor which will adopt 2 wheels
& drive it w/ a pulley & belt from the motor.
If you intend to do more than occaisonal insubstantial buffing $80 is not going to get what you necessitate.
Best regards
