Cold & hot hose lever directions- counterclockwise? I am trying to get both my cold & hot sea levers...
I am trying to get both my cold & hot sea levers to turn the hose down on & off as they typically do. Allegedly the store sold me stems that can be any the hot or the cold side- thus called Price & Phister Hot/cold stems. However, I can one of them to turn on counterclockwise & stale clockwise, as is typical in the USA (everywhere?). BUT the different side then turns on clockwise & rotten counterclockwise. Of course, I can switch them, and make the converse take place. The goal is to hold both work as they should. Can't find any directions on how to reserve the turn direction on a stem. Or have I be sold the wrong part? and own two of one kind instead of a true hot stem and true cold stem. These are supposed to be "bi-sexual" and step both ways..
no directions whatsoever on packaging.
Answers: Many sinks and tubs are set beside the handles/levers to turn the opposite of respectively other, to turn the water on. Look at it approaching this... you stand in front of the sink, grip both faucet lever at the same time, and verbs them towards you, to turn on the water. The not here one will be turning counterclockwise, and the right clockwise. This is done for ease of use, fairly than trying to make them both turn like peas in a pod way.
Now.. which one to take home the hot, and which the cold, is strictly up to your preference....its rather common to see the cold sea on the left, here surrounded by the U.S., but Ive also seen homes next to them reversed. (My home has the cold on the right) Its best to remain consistent throughout the home, whichever method you choose.
You may find, if the handle are actual levers, that you do not hold room to 'push' the water on, because of the backsplash...surrounded by most handicap accessible layouts, the water is 'pulled' on, and 'pushed' rotten. If youve got actual knob, you could run them either method.
Have Fun
they are to turn in divergent dir.
