I've replaced the circuit breaker, but it still hasn't restored power to the 5 different receptacles through my house. No sign of a short on the receptacle (ie.. black burn marks on receptacle covers), so should I simply replace all of the receptacle in request for information, hoping that will fix it? Could it be a shorted junction box? I'm confident beside those type of repairs. Any other suggestions as to what I should be looking for?
Answers: any of the receptacles a GFI?
if so check to see if it is tripped if so reset it.
if no GFI next check to see if power is coming out of breaker if it is then dance to the first receptacle in flash and check it if it is bad or lead loose that is your problem. if no power on out side of breaker check to see if it is seated capably. to test the breaker verbs it out and then brand name sure it is on and use an ohm meter to check it, with it on you should hold little or no resistance when you check it. check your old breaker if you still hold it the same style the breaker may not have be bad.
Believe it or not, the circuit breaker could be defective right out of the bunch. Does anything work on the circuit? If not, I suspect the breaker.
