Having just moved contained by to my new house (3 bed semi approachable plan brrrrrr) and never having have Central Heating before. Tonight is to be -2 degree, is it worth leaving my heat on overnight as we normally hold it on timer (goes on at 5:30 - early risers) but can be baltic during the dark. I was thinking of setting the thermostat to right to be heard 10 degrees and departing it on overnight.

Also we are open plan downstairs, beside one reasonably sized double panel convector radiator in living room, 2 within dining room and one in kitchen. Living Room is hulking can be a little chilly at night, I believe this is a combination of us not having gelatinous curtains yet and front door just being single glazed. Do you cogitate it is worth putting a door between living room and dining room or will that stop heat coming through from dining room heaters? Or should I put another boiler in living room or will boil just escape out and up the stairs? Sorry for the long pondering query
Answers:    Open plan distributes the heat better, but I would push for a vestibule behind front door. You can receive frost once you get below 5 degree, above 55 degrees and you will be too thaw under covers but too cold when you see the quilt off, I would set it 50 - 55.
Short residence in cold weather.. Switch bad timer... change to continuous...More economical to say warmth than hang on to heating up from cold,,, Adejustin radiators or fitting doors etc is more long residence... Getting curtains is more necessary. Even cheap ones... Personally I say aloud blow the cost and keep heat up whatever, I use a lovely gas fire as capably as C/H radiators.
