Central Air condition problems? Please i need help. I enjoy noticed that my AC isn't cooling...
Please i need help. I enjoy noticed that my AC isn't cooling like it be before. As a matter of reality, it's hot inside my house. I went outside to check to see if the fan be running and it wasn't. I have checked the circuit breakers and everything. I've even reset all of them. The undamaged system is new and was working fine until i come home from work. The breaker on the AC unit has no fuses and i even reset it. The power rope seems to be intact also. I just don't even know what to do. I don't want to spend money on a tech if i can do something myself. It doesn't come across to be a big problem. Nothing seems to be broken or damaged. It sounds similar to some kind of power problem to me. Is there anything you suggest i do? Please support.
So your fan inside is running but the fan outside is not?
While you stand at the condenser (outside unit) enjoy some one set the thermostat to cool and bring the temp down. Can you hear the compressor come on. If you do, then reach within with a stick or rod, yard stick, and spin the blades on the disciple. It may catch up and run. If it does, the capacitor is bad. If it doesn't it could be a bleak contact or the fan motor is bad.
Now, subsidise to when they set the stat to cool, if you don't hear the compressor come on, then you could again have a contact problem or a impossible breaker outside.
Hope some of this helps.
You may also want to check the float switch. This is a switch that shuts the condensor off to protect the unit. The float switch is usually found at the atmosphere handler. The newer systems have a little pvc pop up boater that is connected to the drain line. Your drain queue could be clogged and that is shutting down your system. if your fan is running contained by side but the out side unit is not. probably going to be a contactor on your outside unit. ants love to go and get into them and keep it from contacting together.
alot of service calls are on contactors or capacitors
Answers: It may be that one of your inside breakers has flipped. Make sure they are all on. The inside component uses a different breaker than the outside unit. It may be that someone used a hairdryer while the unit be running and flipped the breaker. Just a guess. The dog could have chewed the small wires going outside to the unit from the thermostat or the weedeater could own chewed up them wires. The guys are maybe thinking that the float switch on the condensant drain pan may be it but on a brand bright system I don't see it.
Check the thermostat. Make Sure it's set for cooling and below room temp. HVAC Tech.: If you live surrounded by the south could be ants. They love to build nests inside condenser units, especially in the electrical system.when the thermostat is within the "COOL" setting dose the outside unit "HUMM"? If yes, you probably have ants and dirt keeping the contacts from closing.Suggest Pro. facilitate. Or you can turn off all breakers come across the electrical components and look see. If no Humm, contactor is bad or you lost control voltage from thermostat (wire broken somewhere. OR bad thermostat, one of those steps should show you where on earth the problem is. Good luck!
near is a float switch in the metal pan that the atmosphere handler sets in..check to see if the pan have water in it .try a meter on the breaker to check voltage..
