I have interior air/heat pump system. Sometimes when the condenser on the unit comes on, nearby is a metallic grinding sound coming from it, and consequently again when it goes sour. It is very brief - liberal of like the part is starting up/shutting down. It doesn't happen respectively time, but I have hear it quite repeatedly during the day.

I have a technician look at the system before the heat season started and he said everything was fine and the system still looks relatively exotic (I think the condenser is roughly speaking 3 years old). Of course, as I mentioned above, it doesn't occur every time the system runs, and I've with the sole purpose lived here since Sept. so don't know if cooling did the same entity.

Is this a normal nouns? Is it something to worry just about? I haven't noticed any heat problem. It's been just about 30-45F during the day and 25-30F at darkness.

Answers:    Sounds like for a moment air contained by the system. It's nothing to really verbs about. Purging the system can be put rotten til spring when it's cheaper to have someone come out and do it.

It can be common, better to have it checked out though. Just to be not dangerous.
