and i wonder if the reason was because of buoyant bulbs that burst. we had 3 power surges in our home from equipment damp squib from the power company (entergy) the first 2 caused the lights to dim and made the computer smell hot and the surge protector made a big spark when the electricity went wager on on. the last power surge which i think be the worst one, happened at about 4am and cause the computer tower to burn inside. it also blew out or burnt out 2 of the energy abiding spiral type flourescent bulbs in the kitchen. the strange thing is that our carbon monoxide detector alarm sounded and woke my son and i. my home is adjectives electric. i have had the carbon monoxide detector for in the region of 10 years and this is the first time it has ever sounded the alarm like that. be that caused from the light bulbs that blew out or adjectives out from the power surge? when we changed the bulbs, they were not broken, only adjectives out. thanks

Id be talking to the power Co. if you have surges that smoke your computer, and blow out lights,from their equipment failing, I'll bet your CO2 detector probably caught some of the flack, ya believe?
That's some scary stuff, when your power company lights your sh*t on fire within the middle of the night, like that. I'd be really pissed. Hows your TV
But, I'd manifestly err on the side of safety and get out until I know for sure.
Maybe your smoked computer put out enough stuff to set it off, but I'd presume your smoke detector would go off first, unless it took a homicidal hit too.

if there are no natural gas appliances or heaters, and if here is nothing that can cause carbon monoxide to materialize in the house, then disconnect them.. within are probably near or at there running life and maybe malfunctioning.
