Can't draw from pressure surrounded by the pool filter.? I can't get any pressure thru the skimmer to vacuum the pool....

I can't get any pressure thru the skimmer to vacuum the pool. I've put the garden hose in trying to acquire some water to pull thru but can't receive the pressure to fill the filter up.any sugestions?
Acceptable price for a piece of 2"x4"x8' lumber?
try flushng the lines, engender sure there is no air caught..yoiu can enlighten cos the pump will make wierd noises.
Make sure nearby is no crap hanging about the skimmer.Check the pump motor, it may be burning out

sounds like air surrounded by the line...a device called a drain spout that blows up like a balloon on the end of your marine hose can be used two ways:

1)goin FROM pump to skimmer to clear out line

2)going from skimmer TO pump to fill the plumbing beside water so pump can catch prime
you can buy one at a local hardware store

Answers:    Check in the skimmer below the picnic basket, with pump off remove any trash. Make sure near is no air in the lines, the pump can just move water, not air. What type pool might this be within ground or above ground?
Wall switch plate is warm/hot to the touch?
sounds close to debri of some kind in diaphram.
