I have a issue here and I hope someone can narrate me the answers to my question? They are working on building us a topical bridge across the creek here on the road I live.. They accidently cut into the prime water dash... They turned the water put money on on after 11 hours without any problems, they did this in a minute 2 other times. I was home 2 of the times they cut it past its sell-by date and knew what to do when I turned on the faucets. Well the 3rd time I wasn't home.My mother have lung surgery for cancer and I was next to her and when I came home I have to run the dogs some water that stays within my home and when I turned that faucet on it about blew it past its sell-by date the sink, I didnt go within the back bedroom where on earth the hot water oven is.No one stays in in attendance.I waited 2 days until I know my mom was ok and go into the bedroom to move the computer in in attendance and water be standing in the mat. The hot water oven the lines coming up through the floor was busted.. can that do this? If you requirement more information please e-mail me,
Answers: It sure can. When you release water from a faucet, marine comes out at a given rate, depending on the size of the opening, the initial pressure and the friction losses within the piping. Water travels through the pipe at some rate of speed. When you turn off the river, All the moving water contained by the pipes has to come to a stop. This cause a momentary buildup of pressure. The system usually can handle the buildup. When you release trapped nouns from the pipe, the rate of flow is much greater, and the speed of water moving contained by the pipe is much higher. Greater pressures build up when that vigorous moving water hits the first, and has to slow down. This is regularly called hose hammer, and can do defacement to the piping. More than likely this is what happen.
When I do my own plumbing I make sure that I turn on the river slowly so I don't bang the lines beside the water pressure and nouns in the lines. Anything is possible for lines to break.
