My vacuum cleaner got damp after our basement flooded ( a few inches of standing water). the vacuum cleaner get wet within the process. it is totally dry now, but not sure if it would be past the worst to use as I do not want to get electrocuted.
Answers: manufacture sure it is totally dry as above mentioned...
Also make sure you own a good D switch that has a trip switch on it - hopefully that will prevent you getting shocked..
if you are still unsure telephone out an elecrtician to do the deed
Open up your vacuum to the atmosphere for about a week to be on the sheltered side to make sure it is without a flaw dry. Then plug it in ,turn it on and stand subsequent to the wall socket you plugged it into.
If it starts smoking buy a new vacuum.
