Can i fashion my horizontal airconditioner into a vertical nouns conditioner?
no it is designed to stay vertical ,never mind the water adjectives over the floor.the fluids and gases won't enter or leave the compressor properly, don't do it...tom simple no!
I'm afraid not. The water condensation from the evaporator coils and fins drips down to the bottom tub and to a drain hole. It is designed that way for horizontal mounting. If you mount them vertically, the water condensate may attain into the mechanics and electricals of the air conditioner and cause premature disappearance. If you're handy with sheet metal fabrication, you may be capable of fabricate a channel for the water to exit from the bottom SIDE of the atmosphere conditioner. It would be very difficult if at all possible. Horizontals use a SLAB coil. The coil is placed across the atmosphere flow in a tunnel so all endorsement air is forced through the coil. it drains the water it take from the air along its bottom edge while the upper air flows straight through it. In a vertical system they use an "A" coil air flows up through the "A". Drainage for this coil is at the bottom of the legs on the "A:.
Answers: It actually depends on what equipment you have. If it's an Air Handler near a factory installed coil, it is very possible that it can be switched to verticle. Most Air handlers ship from the factory near 2 pans installed (one for horizontal and one for verticle drainage). If you have a gas furnace afterwards it would depend on the coil that is installed but it is doubtful.
Oh, and refrigerant doesn't care what position the coil is contained by as the poster above me noted. I got a chuckle out of that one =)
