Our power kept going off on one circuit finishing night. The first time my husband said it didn't look close to the breaker had be tripped but it had basically a hair. I looked at it the second time and to me it looked to be surrounded by the full on position even though there be no power. We still have not figure out what is going on, but he insists on resetting it. I think this is a fire risk. Does anyone know for sure?
Answers:    If you are using a space heater, for example on that circuit, or hairdryer...it pulls more amps than the breaker can manipulate, which is why it keeps tripping. Yes it can look as if it is not tripped....If the breaker is old-fashioned, or faulty it will trip as a sanctuary feature. It would be best to phone call in an electrician and tolerate him check it out throughly.
yes, this strange phenomena does occur. what happen is that the breakers trips but doesn't not fully disengage. The only opening to rest it is to flip the breaker in query off and afterwards on...if this keeps up, you could replace the breaker but it is not necessary to do so
