I know that if a sump pump stops working, it is time to be replaced.
Mine is actually running almost unremitting and I am wondering what the problem is.
We got something like 3 inches of rain end weekend, so i didn't think give or take a few it for awhile since it was within use a lot.
It have now be 5 days since it really rained more than a few sprinkles and I am wondering why it won't stop running.

Answers:    Sounds more similar to the sensor switch is bad...not the pump.but if it keep running and there is no hose down it will soon ruin the impellers in pump.

Is the float stuck> pick it out of the sump and see if it still runs. Without any river to pump, the pump should be burned out by now
