we have a hindmost boiler which is a number of years aged, once in a while we own brown / dis-colourd water running from the tap, we have no thought how or why this happens, please can anybody aid or suggest a cure for this.
Answers: It is not people turning wet off within the street if it is reccuring, either the cylinder is diluted internally and heating marine is mixing with the domestic sea or the heating is getting the cylinder too hot, expanding the wet into the storage tank and stirring the rubbish up contained by the bottom of the storage tank(should not affect the cold taps unless they are gravity feed in the bathroom), , which later comes through the cylinder to the hot taps.
only just run the taps for a while and the colour will budge back to majority.
sometimes it happens if the hose down has be switched off within the street, its only sea thats been not here in the pipes.
