I picked this rototiller up from a yard sale and near is no spark going to the spark plug or the lead that attaches to the spark plug. This motor has be sitting for years the owner said so I wonder if the magneto is shot. I sanded the magnet on the flywheel to get the rust stale. It still has a lot of fascinating pull. Thanks
Answers:    According to "outdoordistributors.com" that model has points. You can travel to the website and type in the model number for your briggs and get a blow up belief of all the parts and part numbers. They used a fiber rod to move the points, that rod will confiscate in the block and not move. It can be tough to get out and verbs the hole. An easy fix is to install a newer electronic ignition module on the engine. It will eliminate the entail for the points and condenser. I took one from an old worn out lawn mower engine and put it on a 10 hp tiller engine. Works great. The module costs give or take a few $60 new but there are plenty of Briggs engines around that race just want to get rid of. A hot coil will cost almost that much. You will have to pull the flywheel to obtain to the points.
the points would be under the flywheel.

If there isnt a touch blue wire that you can see from the coil to under the fly gearstick, it doesnt.

If there is, then cut the blue cable and go buy a megatron ignition.
