Brick cleaning? How do I clean white bricks

How do I clean white bricks
Answers:    DO NOT USE MURIATIC ACID !

Brick manufacturer even say that for regular red bricks, but especially white bricks, do not use sour ! You will get "acid-burn" stains, Vanadium stains, turning your white bricks a pukey yellowy-greeny colour, consequently you'd have to try your luck to receive THAT stain off too, or it could ineradicably damage the look of the white bricks.

Firstly, though, you must know WHAT stains are you cleaning sour the bricks ??? Different stains may require different solutions !!!

Also, its not wise to use a metal-bristle cable brush, as this may scratch the surface of the brick, and also rub past its sell-by date traces of metal (iron? or brass) onto your white bricks, which would become rust stains or copper stains later.

Also, its best to showery the wall with dampen, totally saturate the bricks so the cleaning solution doesn't find absorbed into the bricks and create damage. IF the bricks are pre-wetted next to water, next the cleaning solution and dissolved stain will stay at the surface where you can rinse it sour.

IF its just regular atmospheric pollution or moss / algae, later you could even try regular warm river with a bit of laundry detergent or dishwash soap. If that didn't work, check professional products at http://www.prosoco.com. IF its excess cement stains, they enjoy something called Vanatrol, which minimizes adjectives of vanadium stains. ProSoCo gives you detailed information and instructions and precautions for the gamut of professional brick-cleaning products they make, even used for renovations on THE White House within DC.

Check also http://www.bia.org for general information from the brick industry association.

Whatever you do, do it right, don't inflict more damage by doing it wrong or from using the wrong products. For your own flawless, DO NOT USE MURIATIC ACID on there.
