got a 20 slot breaker box but need more, wondering how big they progress and how much it cost to replace
Answers:    For a 100 amp services you can get up a 30 circuit panel and for a 200 amp service they go up to a 40 circuit panel or you could only add a sub panel next to it, you could include a 100 amp sub- panel to a 100 amp main panel and a 200 to a 200
If you have a 100 amp panel very soon and you have alot of high voltage appliances you should move up to a 200 amp service if you dont own alot of high voltage things stay with the 100amp and join a sub this is the fastest and cheapest way
depending on the kind of panel you hold ... you can buy "piggy back" breakers . which are 2 breakers in 1 .call electric supply houses to see if they pedal that brand... if you have a federal/pacific panel get it replaced .. breakers are 5 times sophisticated because that company went out of business in the 60s You can browse at the nearest Home Depot for a strange panel, or you can have a 'pony panel' attached to the existing one, or you can pay $1000, incl. parts and grind, for a half day long upgrade.
