I feel approaching I've been hosed by a repair guy. I own hot water, baseboard warmness, and the heat wasn't going on when I turned up the thermostat. I have 1/2 tank of grease, so I know that wasn't the problem. I went down to the subterranean vault to check it out. I hit the red reset button, and the boiler fired right up. It ran until it reach the high curb at 180 degrees, and shut rotten like it should. Circulator be running, and I now have heat upstairs. Now here's the problem: the boiler wouldn't turn back on at its low restraint, and the heat never come back on unless I kept going downstairs and manually hitting the reset button. I be sure it had to be any a thermostat problem, or a relay or the limit switch not clicking on at the low decrease. I never tried jumping the thermostat or anything, though I should hold. The repair guy came and right away said its not the thermostat, and completed up putting in a complete new motor! Why would it requirement a new motor? Did I draw from hosed?
Answers: probably didnt get hosed , the certainty that had to push reset button ,eliminate the limit and t-stat ,the idea u had to push reset button be that the burnner was locked out on primary control tripping , this happen when the burnner dose not light surrounded by set amount of time(usually 45 sec)the motor brgs or windings may have have what we call flat spot and if motor stops on that exact spot it will sometimes stick near causing a lockout, i do repair work as living and know sometimes not easy to make implied to customer , sounds like pious repair to me , hope this helped
you get hosed. if it was the motor it would not cirulate when u hit the reset.
