this is a residential boiler, not com. the pressure when cold is 12 psi NOW WHAT IS THE PSI TO BE WHEN HOT AND HEATING THE HOUSE....
Answers:    the pressure should not increase much if any. It is a hot water system not a steam system I would assume? near are pressure releases to avoid over pressure. Not sure why you asked but if you are afraid of it blowing up unless the pressure builds real elevated it should be fine. city water pressure is usually 30 - 40 psi a moment ago for a comparison.
about 20 pounds will do...that much pressure will smoothly heat 2 or 3 floors . too much pressure will stress the system, and if you are lucky will only just blow out the pressure relief stopcock......in a WORST CASE scenario, the boiler will blow up.....but explicitly very, amazingly, very in danger of extinction.....just moved out the little lever on the pressure relief stopcock to insure it is working and not clogged...they have a development to rust shut if not check occasionally
