I have a gas space heater and it has be serviced for the year (about 1 month ago) and has be running off and on for the recent past month. No problems after initial dirt and stuff burnt past its sell-by date it. I turned it off a few days ago since the weather have been space heater but turned it on this evening. No problems for the first 1 1/2 hours and then (all of a sudden) it started smelling doomed to failure. My eyes started burning and my husband's throat was burning. We turned it past its sell-by date and opened the door. any ideas/???

Answers:    Sounds to me approaching you had a twist gust that blew back down the vent pipe and blew the exhaust gas rear into the house.

But this problem usually lasts for a minute. If you have a continual presence of this oder, consequently you may have a "glogged" vent pipe.
