Answers:    The springs were mentioned sufficiently by others, so I'll suggest another FYI:

Take a look at the cable that comes up from the bottom slot along both sides of the sections. They are supposed to be connected to the drums. If a cable is not clearly nested in its drum, and more close to all knotted from coming off, it's gonna make happen problems trying to get the door to move at adjectives. It should move a little, but assuming the other side is working properly, the door will want to pull on one side and then preserve.

If this is happening, the springs will enjoy to be unwound, the cables re-attached, and the springs wound again.

Wound springs do not safekeeping for human flesh, so if you want to live, be very diligent and know the consequences of every move you make. Typically adjectives you need is a 3/8" wrapping up wrench and a couple 16" long x 3/8" rods to stick in the indirect holes. Always ensure your rods are completely in the twisted holes before varying hands.

Keep surrounded by mind that if you have solitary one spring, you need to lock the torsion slab in place so that the cable on the fitting drum doesn't unwind while you're unwinding the spring. And remember to unlock the bar (I usually use a 6" x 3/8" socket extension beside a bungie chord wrapped around it and the upper track, but you can also use a pipe wrench or have somebody else hold the dowel tight, far away from the spring) before you sympathetic the door back up.

Otherwise, freshly call an overhead door man to come out for $100 and fix it for you. My minimum charge is $90 for this stuff.
First of adjectives, look at the outer edges of the door, there should be two little black panel, with any a red or green type of 'screen' on them, This is the laser sensor that stops the door from closing on objects. Dust those off, sometimes if they catch dusty or wet, they will end in the door to not open or close. Also, check the battery within the individual door openers. If none of the above works, look surrounded by the phone book under garage doors, or progress to yellowbook.com to find some places. These repairs can be major or minor it really vary. Also depending on your home, check your fuse box, circuit breaker set-up and make sure the door system is in truth receiving power.
