Attic insulation? Why do you rarely see insulation batts along the roof between rafter?...

Why do you rarely see insulation batts along the roof between rafter? What would happen if you insulate beween the rafter or is that ok?
Answers:    If the ceiling joists ( floor of attic ) are already insulated ,consequently there is no want to insulate the rafter bays .
Rafter bay can be insulated if your finishing the attic space,
but you will need a special vent installed within bays prior to insulating .
The rafter fjord vent will allow for air to flow underneath the roof sheathing from the eaves to to ridge (peak ) and vent through a ridge vent .
You normally want nouns flow above the insulation to prevent any water or condensation from rotting the wood.
