Are you required to own grounded outlets?
Are outlets required to be grounded in decree for the place to be "up to code" for rental? I heard that this might simply be the case within kitchens and bathrooms.
Thanks!
Answers: Houses must meet the building code contained by effect the year the house was built. Homes built within the 40's and 50's did not require any grounded outlets. Today all outlets are to be grounded and outlets inside six feet of a sink or tub must be GFCI. There is no requirement to retrofit grounded circuits into older houses.
You will have to appointment your local housing authority to answer this question.
