I was wondering if solar panels are worth the initial cost. How several watts of energy do I need at any given time? I own a family of 4 with 2 roommates, so 6 ethnic group are in the house. The front of my house faces north and I own heard its best to face the panel south so I could put them on the back of the house. Does this matter? If I own 1 killawatt power is that enough? Is that just 1000 watts for use a sunshine? how do they measure that. Any information is greatly appreciated!
I would say yes if you can afford them but it will pilfer time to get your investment back. I would bring back solar panels tomorrow if I had the money. I would also approaching to hybrid car.
If you produce any amount of electricity, your electrical bills will be slightly lower. over time, your saved money will accumulate and outweigh the cost of the panel. If you generate more electricity than you consume, the power company will have to pay you! thought almost this myself. You only break even cost wise after 10 years or so. Might be better bad using energy saving flimsy bulbs, timer switches and turning off all non-essential appliances instead of departing on stand by until solar pannals come down in price.
