Are 'reclaimed' bricks roughly more expensive than brand foreign ones?

they are more expensive ..because they are able to charge you more and if you requirement them there is hugely little you can do about it ..they are approaching gold when it comes to holding their utility ..on average you will pay between lb500 to lb600 per thousand ...when i be a lad 50 years ago i worked in the brickyards ...i be paid 25pence to verbs 1000 bricks out of a hot kiln and stack them contained by a yard ...within those days a thousand best quality bricks would hold set you back lb11...and no vat !

Yes they enjoy to be recovered from an old building,
sorted and cleaned by mitt then re sold.
the employment involved makes them 2 times as expensive as standard bricks minimum and if they are special or undercooked ones that can rise to 10* the price of standard bricks.
Answers:    Yes they are, sometimes more than 100% of the cost of new brick. I believe the reasoning is possible historical significance and/or the labor involved in cleaning the used brick within order for them to be reused.
