In my kitchen is a sudden invasion of tiny ants. I noticed a few on the counter tops and a few in the cabinents. I placed a container of muffins within a drawer and came back surrounded by an hour and there were hundreds of tiny ants contained by the drawer. I am so bugged out by this. I put a bunch of terro traps and raid traps. I cannot figure out where on earth they are coming from. If the drawers were closed I figure they are coming from bringing up the rear the cabinents? How do I get rid of these?! I took all food out of my cabinents and stored it away and laid traps everywhere. On the differing side of the wall is another house ( i live in townhouses) so I cannot figure out what to do.
As it be answered before, powdered boric acid works ably. You can normally get it surrounded by a plastic bottle with a nozzle that lets you spray the powder of late where you want it. Home Depot and other stores sells this. Powdered Boric Acid. That's the white stuff the exterminators put down within the ant paths. They track it to their nests and it will kill the intact lot of 'em.
Stick near the Terro, it takes a couple of days to work. The ants have to nurture on it and take it back to the nest and it will eventually destroy the entire nest. But it takes a little time. I know, I hatred ants with a passion too but Terro is the one and only thing that I have used and it get rid of them for the rest of the summer. It's almost a spring ritual around here; clean cupboards and put the Terro out...but then be we lived used to be a creek bed and it's sandy and they just love it! Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle it here and there. The ants will come and pick up the sugar, along beside the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can¡¯t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not one able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.
Answers:    Kim G strikes again... cinnamon/sugar will not work. Ants don't swallow the dry food. They can't. It's impossible due to their biology and design.

Depending on the species of ant you enjoy, you may not be able to solve this yourself. Squash a few of the ants. Grind them up real suitable with your fingers. Now sniff. If it smells like adjectives orange peels or rotten coconut, next you have the dreaded Odorous House Ant. If that's the case, hire a professional and collaborate about going in halfs next to your neighbor. I guarantee they're having a problem too.

Otherwise, any bait may help, some more than others.
draw a line of soap or flour around the borders of the room, especially along the floorboards. Try to see where they are going, and block their towpath with the soap/flour. I am using home defense.
