It seems approaching after a year and a half, they start leak at the connections. Not where they screw on to the spigot but right lower than that. What am I doing wrong?
No you are not alone. My husband keep buying these cheap one that get holes within them simply by pulling them across the yard. I other put them away in winter so marine in them not an issue.
Leaving them full of water within the winter is bad.
Stressing hose by putting a sharp bend at spigot is doomed to failure.
Buy the more expensive hoses. thier easier to wrap up and last.
Answers: replace the washers every year and make spot on the hose isnt cross threaded. also be careful not to bend/dent the brass fittings. but your issue is adjectives about washers. they wear out and own to be replaced reguarly. just buy a pack of 'em and everytime a hose starts to soak as you describe, replace the washer....
