We have three nouns conditioners in our house connected to one big box/fan outside (not sure what its called) and when we turn any of them on they never turn cold. Does it requirement a re gas? and can we do it ourselves?
Answers: It might need a charge added, but it's more credible that your coils are just dirty.
If you're comfortable, disasemble the condensor coil assembly (Outside) and adjectives evaporator coil assemblies (Indoor) and give them a honourable cleaning using low pressure water and an sharp cleaner. (White vinegar does a fair commission.) Be careful not to kink any of the lines. That can grounds as much problem as a leak! Allow the unit to dry before reassembly.
If it turns out that you do inevitability a charge, you'll need to phone a tech. (It's illegal to touch most refrigerants without a ceertification. There's also plentifully of specialized tools required.)
