Air Conditioning Not Cooling House? My A/C stopped cooling the house yesterday. No matter how...
My A/C stopped cooling the house yesterday. No matter how low we set it, it is almost 90 degree in the house. There is somewhat cool nouns coming out the vents but it's not as cold as it have been and it's not coming out terrifically strong. Do you think it's a filter problem? I do stipulation to change the filter and plan to do it today. I am hoping that fixes it. If not, any other thinking? I hope I don't have to compensate for a service call.
I chew over you may have to enjoy the thermostat checked as it is most likely recounting the unit it's cool plenty inside.
Filter is a possibility. Also, if coils ice-up, you lose coolng power - but after you have to numeral out why the coils iced-up.
When was the concluding time you had the refrigerant smooth checked? (Refrigerant used to be freon, but I don't think they use that anymore - some identify like Puron now)
Answers: Sounds as if your coils are icing up. Turn the thermostat to rotten and the fan switch to on. tolerate it run a couple hours to thaw the coils out. You should discern more air flow as it thaw.
Change the filters as you said. That requirements to be done every 30 days unless you have an extremely dust free house.
Once they are thaw, look at the coils and see if they need cleaning. I would go the filters out during this process as they are credible to get raining from the thawing coils.
If they look dutiful, replace the filter and turn it on and see how it goes. if it ices up again you are low on refrigerant.
