I have medium air at my house and I considered necessary to add a bake pump for the winter to keep the house reheat because of the price of oil is costly. I phone call a company they are telling me I obligation to increase my my wattage from 100 to 200 amp and I need to upgrage the electric outlet. They are chargin me $7000 do the the livelihood. I think thats too much and I stipulation help on how do I walk about getting that commission done. Any one any advice?
Answers:    if you hold 100 amp service (common in elder homes), you will need to upgrade to 200 amp service. you will have need of a licensed electrician for that. as far as adding a warmth pump, your duct work needs to be insulated if it isn't. the other way out is to replace your ductwork, which can be costly also. the size of your home will determine what size heat pump you inevitability. which also affects the price. i got an estimate for a 2 1/2 ton two weeks ago. singular the heat pump and installation be $3200. if this guy or company is doing all of the work, ductwork, electric and bake pump, it sounds like a objective price. if the price reflects simply the heat pump and installation, it's over priced. moral luck.
If you think grease heat is costly, dawdle till ya see your electric bill for running a Heat pump!! oil is much cheaper! Trust me!
