A/C Question -? We had our A/C serviced last year and they added freon. IT...

We had our A/C serviced last year and they added freon. IT doesn't discern like the house it cold, I keep it at 75* and sometimes it read that it is actually 80*.

It is hot here outside (around 100*) could it be just that it is SO hot outside it is making the inside of the house hot?

Any tips, accepted wisdom, help, anything would be appreciated on what to do or what this problem-o is!

Thanks!
First: When be the last time you insulated your home against drafts and leaks? Any point of entry or pane could easily be leaking your cold nouns out.

Second: If a technician has to add "freon" (ie. R-12 or R-22 or whatever) to your a/c section, it means you have a escape in your system somewhere. A/C units are made to "recycle" the gas (they are actually in a fluid oil form) used to cool the air. If you are losing any of that gas than you own a leak.

So - check your home for draft points and seal them up and next have an a/c tech come and fix or replace your unit.
There are many things that can affect the value of the A/C in cooling the house. First and most important is the amount of insulation contained by the walls and ceilings. Assuming that your home is not an older home (15+ years), you should be fine. Next are the window. Dual pane is good, and newer ones are better. If you have single pane, you inevitability to cover the windows to lessen the heat exchange through them. Also, the location of the condenser part is important. If its located in a place that get full sun, that can cut efficiency as much as 50 percent. If that's the case, you might want to carry it shaded, but don't do anything that will restrict the airflow in and out of the unit.

If these things don't facilitate, check your furnace filters, and take a look at the evaporator. Often times these will clog up next to dust, grime, spiderwebs, etc. The furnace unit should be thoughly cleaned at least annually, but not a soul ever does until there's a problem. At any rate, deenergize the furnace, remove the access panels, and take a brush and vacuum and verbs it all out, and replace the filter. If none of that helps, after you may need the service tech take a look at the system again. If contained by adding the refrigerant to your system, if he got any nouns into the system, that would also reduce the efficiency.
Hey, build sure all your blinds are closed and that all the vent and ducts are sealed properly. Also check how hard the atmosphere comes out of your vents. If it isn't very strong the here is a problem with your furnace fans, if the problem still persist then make sure in attendance is not a leak in the coils i.e. leaking out freon. Good Luck.

It could be that you hold a leak in the A/C row that goes to your furnace, check and make sure adjectives your storm windows are closed and close as many blinds/curtains you can to go and get the house as dark as you can, the darker your house is the cooler it will be, sun coming contained by can heat a house very efficiently. A/C tecs usually reccomend you keep you thermostat at 72, thats the most efficient and cost influential. if the added freon that means it was low on gas ,if its low in attendance is probably a leak on the system and freon is escaping into the atmosphere, this affects the performance of the system (low gas,low cooling capacity).it will also enjoy adverse affects on other components in the system and could cost you $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ i would get it checked out asap
Answers:    It could be that the thermostat is not working resourcefully. Maybe you should have it checked or replaced. Also, if it humid as well as really hot outside, after the A/C has a harder time keeping the house cool. Good luck!! : /
