A/C fins disintegrating? Gray, crumbly mess.? I just moved into a house beside a friend, and I...

I just moved into a house beside a friend, and I notice his outside a/c part has some issues, so any experts out within.maybe you can inform me if this is normal, is it a cheap a/c section, or something that's covered under warranty. It's over 9yrs outmoded and I just found out the ten yr warranty is almost up.

I purely sold my house and had a/c problems so I'm a bit familiar. I do know the fins are supposed to be straight; mine be, and looked like a solid metal. That section was 11 yrs frail.

Several areas on the outside of these units (2) are completely disintegrating. Each bottom corner is a pile of, is it aluminum? All crumbly, dusty; a mess.
On respectively side of the unit masses areas look like this, and the fins that aren't bent adjectives look about to crash apart. They look like grey, faded, cheap metal or something.

I haven't mentioned this even so; don't want to worry him if nothing's wrong. It is cooling the house.
He's not a handyman type whatsoever, and I'm no expert, but this looks unusual.
Thanks!
Answers:    This is typically what happens when a dog is allowed to relieve himself on an A.C. part. I have see it time and time again. The urine over time will rot the condenser coil. If this is the case, you won't own much luck collecting on a warranty.
Lawn chemicals have like peas in a pod effect, regardless something
caused this situation.
i would basically try to vacuum all the crud out of nearby and keep on using it till it doesn't cool anymore.
those fins are in that to help cool down the hot gas that go through the tubing. you enjoy the same type fins and tubing on the inside the house that help spread more cold air.
