THe nails ar ea quarter of an inch gelatinous, and two inches long and they are spaced 8 inches appart. The mirror is 40 inches in beside (the way I'm slack it). The mirror is supported by a wire within the back. The nail have be inserted at an angle and I have no hooks or studs. Is it going to stay up? My friend have a larger mirror and she only used one pin, and its been haging for years.
I don't want it to slop and hurt anyone.

Answers: It will not hold over a period of time if nailed into a stud at adjectives...You can use Molly bolts though which expand and swell inside the wall and will give you more support and will hold...
Just to be safe and sound use dry wall anchors. There are many types available. Don't pocket a chance.
