Answers:    It not smart to put it in the liquid chain or the small line you can flood the compressor. The suction line is the big smudge and this is where you vapor charge the unit. Yes here is a 3/4 ton unit along with a 1 ton and 2 ton and even 4 ton on up. How much refrigerant depends on the temp outside for this will demarcate pressure. Normally a 85 degree day runs at roughly speaking 65-67 psi. You shouldn't try to charge the unit with a EPA license by decree it can cost you a $10,000 fine and imprisonment. (If you get caught though).

AC techs can put Refrigerant on both sides , the gooey line and suction line.Keep within mind no liquid should go to suction vein only gas. Liquid goes to gooey line only.
