2nd Floor of home flood, when child vanished tub hose down running what can I do? My nephew and his 3yr old sister(both children are okay and not...
My nephew and his 3yr old sister(both children are okay and not a soul is hurt , I was @ work when this adjectives happened.) tolerate the bathtub overflow. There is a tons of river everwhere. On the side where the bathroom is located the sea had soaked the carpet in the closets and at lowest a foot of carpet is soaked into the rooms across the agency from the bathroom area. I don't know what to do? I own removed part of the mat and have purchased an nouns carpet to cut and replace a lowest a spot of the carpet but I don't know what to do? I pulled up fragment of the carpet to hold the subfloor from becoming extremely damaged by the sea. My mother told me that water from the 2nd floor be leaking into the kitchean/dining room thru the desk light fixtures. I can not afford to have someone come out and asses adjectives the damage( I live in a small rotten the way town that it cost a fortune to bring back people out to repair things.) My sister advise me that her insurance will not cover this type of damage.
WTF??? Who's letting two 3yr. olds play within the bathroom unsupervised. You're lucky they didn't drown and throw you in lock up for child negligence. I'd worry roughly your babysitter more than your flood.
the damage will be to more than the flooring. spread out up as much of the affected nouns to air out. once things are drier, assess the mischief. you just can't fix it for that little, that i know of. but plywood & studs can pinch a fair bit of marine damage, if it isn't not here to soak. just hope it isn't tiny part board.
good luck!
Answers: Check next to your insurance first: they may cover it, you must find out first.
Pull the carpet hindmost, all the course to a dry area, until the drizzling area is bad the floor, then rob the pad sour, all the track. This will never dry, you'll have to replace it, it's cheap.
Dry the floor, engineer sure you dry it good. If you enjoy a "shop-vac" use it. If you put the carpet backbone down on a wet floor you'll be deeply sorry, they have a bias to rot and smell moldy if not dry.
Put surrounded by fans, this may lift a few days to dry good. create sure everythings dry before you put anything hindmost.
I don't think you'll ever procure the carpet stretched vertebrae again but, you can try. Rent a "kicker" from a rental and see what you can do.
