$1,800 to stratum my 1400 sq. ft. house.WTF ? I have a 1400 sq. ft. home on pier & beam, adjectives...
I have a 1400 sq. ft. home on pier & beam, adjectives it needs is some shimming to help close something like 4 or 5 doors, all of the blocking is pretty much in place, reasonably a few, I might add.
It just really desires some tweaking in several places, it's all wood from the 1800's, the previous owner have it relevelled about a year and a half ago. I in recent times got a quote for $1,800.WTF.over?
Jump on it. But no money up front. They do the job and then you pay envelope. That way everything will close and your happy.
Only alternative is do it your self. I have to in one of my houses. Its a job , but I did it. Hydraulic jacks and adjectives.
I helped my dad smooth a 900 sq' house many years ago and I think $1800 isn't a unpromising price for all the work that in involved crawling beneath and jacking it up little by little and in different areas at the same time.
I would procure 1-2 more bids but I think it sounds decent To be done correctly, concrete piers will own to be poured, if they do not do this I would go to someone else. Concrete will either hold to be mixed or bought in bulk. This would be a fair price within my book if done correct. I have tried leveling house once in my energy and that is enough. You would not believe the amount of complex work involved...
Answers: wow does sound similar to alot...i would call around...and i would call the previous owner to see how much they remunerated..call a mobile home setter upper company...they should be able to do it..and they should single charge a few hundred dollars not almost two grand
