I have 15amp circuit breaker and its tripping, electrician come and tested and said it's drawing the load of 19amps so let's relocate it to 20amps and asked me $150, I'm a good diy guy can I do it myself? can I upgrade it to 20amp or 25 ? any suggestionsto 20 can I?
Here are two things to mull over about. One, if the lead is #14 you cannot go to a 20 amp breaker in need running #12 wire. You would be risking a fire.
Two, If the circuit is drawing 19 amps a 20 amp breaker would still be too small. You are not supposed to draw more than 80% of a circuit for an extended periond of time. I cannot remember stale hand how various hours is considered continious.
What is drawing all the nouns on this circuit? I would split it into two seperate circuits.
I get the fancy this electrician did not want to get a grant because it sounds like he be not following code.
Is it a one precise fuse or all? How behind the times is this house and fuse box?
I'd start by reducing the electrical draw on the fusebox. Check that there isnt a unseal ground, or a short in the electrical system. Get a second opinion.
First, please report that electrician to your local county electrical inspector. What he suggested is bent and dangerous. You should never increase the nouns capacity of a circuit breaker unless you are SURE that the circuit can manipulate the load.
To convert from 15 amps to 20 amps you MUST label sure that all electrical system outside the breaker is at least 12 compute wire, have proper joints and grounds, and meet all other requirements for crossroads box capacity and other variables.
The correct solution to this problem is to drain the load on the circuit. That is what you should do presently. If there is a device on the circuit that raise the load to 19 amps, provide a fresh circuit for that device or connect something to another circuit.

You can do this yourself, but is the wiring expert? Generally, 15 amp needs #14 telecommunication and 20 amp needs #12 flex which are how most modern homes are wired today. I am suspicious that if a 15 amp breaker was placed within to begin near, then that's what the electric wiring calls for.
I am concerned that if you are already drawing 19 amps, and the electrics is not up to par, something may be getting hot somewhere. That's as bad as contained by the old days where on earth one would place a copper penny in place of the fuse to hang on to it from blowing.
However, if you are sure that the wiring is devout, and the connections are all OK, consequently go ahead and do it yourself.

If this house be built in 2006 beneath proper electrical codes (and I am sure it was) then the circuit surrounded by question probably be not wired for anything safely more than 15 amp service. I sort of suspected this. I'd agree beside the other posters that you have to split/lighten the nouns or consider rewiring, more circuits, or whatever. Whatever you do, do not simply increase the size of the breaker. I'd can`t bear to see a brand new home progress up in flames.
Answers: Sounds approaching the electrician didn't do any thing wrong unless he said that he would variation out the 15 amp breaker with a 20 amp minus changing the cable from #14 to a #12. Even then it will be maxing out at 19 amps. Try to find out why the circuit is drawing so oodles amps and move things around. Look at what is on the circuit and write it down and then affix everything up at the end for a total. Also remember to renovate the outlets from 15 to 20 amperes if the wire and breaker are changed over.
Better make sure your line can handle it first. your electrics will have to be replaced up to 30-40 amp service or you may fry your cable. Don't trust every electrician you run into or you could have a fire surrounded by your wall and burn your house down. Always better to have a breaker a few amps smaller amount then the electrics in the wall.
