Answers:    There are lots of things you need to find out past growing plants, you need to shift to the library and get a polite book on house plants, or find one at a book store. You can usually get
apposite books inespensively at a used book store.

You do need to crawl the whole pot beside soil, make sure it is the right soil for the plant. Cactuses help yourself to different soil that other plants, a more porous mix. Do not use soil from your garden, it is too heavy and holds too much wet, and that will rot a house plant. Use a good pottiing soil mix. Don't use too big a pot for the plant, a small plant that you are starting out beside won't need any bigger than a four-inch pot. There should be simply enough room for the roots beside a little to spare for growing, and when the pots acquire full of roots, pot it up into a pot that is single a couple of inches bigger around. Too big a pot holds too much water and you will own a root rot problem again. Find out what kind of plant you own, and how much sun or light it requires. They are different things, apposite strong light is not equal as full sun. Full sun can kill a plant that like shade, but good strong wishy-washy will make it thrive. Water yoour plant when you can stick your finger surrounded by the soil, to your first knuckle, and it feels dry. Make sure that within is a drainage hole in the bottom of your pot so that the excess dampen can drain away, or you will rot the roots. When you water it, stick it contained by the sink and soak it good, consent to it drain, then put it rear. Only do this about once a week or unless it dries out really promptly. Keep your plants away from heat vent and fireplaces.

Good luck with your up to date hobby.
