Hi guys. Recently bought a clay pot about 2 foot in depth and 1 foot contained by width, near a couple drainage holes in the bottom. Where the pot will be will attain no direct sunlight, but it's still outside in the shade. Anyone own any good design on what I could grow outside, in the wintertime within the shade? Virginia temperatures here so contained by winter probably looking at average highs of 35-45 within the wintertime, lows 25-35. Thanks for any help. Seeya!
Answers:    Cyclamen do really okay in the shade and hold lovely pink / red flowers. Hostas also like the shade but their flowers are not incredibly striking.
Try an aucuba or a mahonia with ivy spilling out around the bottom.
