The evergreen tree or a pine, its branches have the sticky resin on it, be harmed by a bug or moth so that approx.50% of its branches are dead. The tree is in the order of 40ft. high, can it be save or revived with nutrients?
Answers:    It depends on how severe the hurt was, overall. Unfortunately, evergreens tend to look alive long after they are mortally wounded, so I would vote the chances are slim that it can be repaired. Has it be treated for the bugs yet? You could hold an arborist come take a look or give somebody a lift some photos to the local agriculture extension office for their feelings. Fertlizers could help, over time, if it is not already beyond abiding. It sounds pretty severe, though, so unless you have some lolly to get an arborist over to look at it, I would start budgeting to cut it down until that time it keels over, sadly.
You 1st have need of to find out what the problem is... you could still have the problem. It's remarkably possibly an insect problem.. look further on the tree. It might be good to capture a tree guy in to put a dormant grease on the tree to save it. Some insects on different evergreen species are suckers and will put to death off section of the tree at a time. Look close for some signs. Are there white patch that look scaly? These insects don't other look like a typical bug. They usually appropriate on a resemblance to the tree itself.
