Will seed from fruits produce fruit when they are planted contained by containers?
Of course!
Maybe, but heaps fruit trees are grafted, so you may not get equal kind of fruit you are getting from your current tree. I know a friend of mine grew good cherries from cherry pits. If you own a lot of space, you can take the kismet... have fun! Yeah, they will but the size and quality of the fruit depends on the size of the pot and the soil contained by it.
Answers: Sometimes... it can't hurt to try.
Some fruits are hybrids and the seeds do not always remain "true" to the parent plant. Also some hybrid seed are sterile.
Fruits with "pits" like peaches, cherries, and plums are best for doing this. Fruits next to seeds like apples and pears usually don't work because of too copious reasons to list here.
