i have a dahlia but it dryed out how plants sometimes do...i infer its because its winter already im not sure if its a perennial or an annual....please help because i dont know if i should in recent times take it out or be off it for next spring!
Answers: Depends on where on earth you are. In my zone 6b garden I never have to verbs my dahlias and they come up like clockwork every year, but if you are within zone 5 or north, I would say verbs them., store them like sptfyr say. They are a tuberous rooted plant, a perennial where it is reheat enough.
Well, Dahlia bulbs obligation to be dug up and stored during the winter. I don't think it is too slow so you can dig it up, shake sour the soil and then you can place it within a paper rucksack with some wood shavings, shredded quality newspaper, vermiculite or dry sand and store it until last freeze of Spring have passed.
Good Luck
