I live in an upstairs council flat, it's reasonably a nice estate and whilst my neighbours generally maintain their gardens tidy, they don't make a huge amount of application with them. But i want to put up porthole boxes and there is sunlight adjectives day hitting the front on my flat so as long as i remember to dampen them i thought they would flourish.

What flowers should i put in them, it cant be anything that grows next to a long stem as i will need to initiate the window to dampen them and dont want to snap the stem.

Please post picks of the flowers you think would look pretty.

WHat other topes can you provide me to make them do economically, ie is there special soil to use and what almost plant food?

Does that miracle grow soil really do what it says?
Answers:    I estimate it is a wonderful idea. Not over the top at adjectives :)
Why not try Pelargoniums.very French. They do not want much water and love to be cooked, come contained by lots of different colours and you could plant trailing ones that would hang over the periphery but not too far. Just add for a while growmore when you plant up as they don't need much food any.
Use a free draining soil (John Innes in UK) fairly than peat based as it is rather too rich for them.
Mix with nepeta if you want them to really fall!

Baskets are a lovely idea, and brighten the complete place up, trailing Lobelia, Fuchsias, Double Headed Begonias, Busy Lizzie's, why not treat yourself to a book on flowers then you will acquire some good planning, and of course on how to declare them.
