Will ground up jalapenos lay waste to grass if I sprinkle it on the ground? I have a ton of jalapenos growing contained by my garden....

I have a ton of jalapenos growing contained by my garden. I am considering grinding them up and sprinkling it around my mailbox to deter dogs from peeing on my mailbox. I am tired of repainting my mailbox because neighborhood dogs pee on it and it strips the paint. I am afraid, though, that the jalapenos may damage my grass. Does anyone own any experience with this? Thanks!
Answers:    I'm pretty sure that the jalapenos won't spoil the grass, particularly if you don't apply them heavily. Dogs hold an amazing sense of smell, so it shouldn't take much. I'm not sure if it will drive them away or if they will simply not try to eat them and move about ahead and pee on the mailbox. There are sprays made to deter dogs from things you don't want them to "mark". You could try one of those.
Sorry in finance for this, but I tend to throw in funny stories from my experiences. I have planted about 8 Arborvitae, an evergreen similar to cedars. My dog picked a convinced tree to pee on and eventually killed it. I know if I replaced it, he would pee on the new tree, and if I in recent times pulled it up, he would select another. Well Arborvitae keep their "needles" for some time after they own turned yellow, so I go out and spray-painted them with assorted green colors. The neighbors probably thought I was crazy, but after doing this next to 2 successive trees that he had kill, they finally grew large satisfactory that he doesn't kill them presently.
Blend 40 fresh chilli peppers within 1 pound of water. Add 5 g of Ivory soap flakes to the blended chilli mixture. Apply as required undiluted wearing eye protection.
