I am trying to figure out if grass will grow contained by sand. It dosen't have to grow in good health, I just want to know if it grows. Thanks so much.
Answers: most expected not...sand does not hold water intensely well,,also if you kept it watered you d probably rot the seed,,,also sand has no nutrients to support grass or any item else,,take look at a sandy beach---nothing growing ,,,right,,,,further up the hill there might be some saline grass,,, or what ever u call it,,,but its get some dirt mixed with it,,, so if you want to grow grass within sand,,,find out what the native grass that s growing close to a beach is ,,,and plant that nice,,,,,
If it is kept moist, it should sprout and gowing, but it will not be happy, since the sand cannot hold much river or nutrients. Beach grass (not turfgrass) will be happy within sand.
